SIM MOVE
============
If you have not been to OneDom in a while, our sim moved from Jai West (our openspace), to Jai (our main sim).  Here’s an LM to the new entry point.

CONSTRUCTION
=============
Jai is under a bit of construction, but please come at any time and explore !  Always some kind of construction going on!

Our newest project is our HAUNTED HOUSE.  Jer and  Ima add to it everyday.  Done in the traditional OneDom way, it’s guaranteed to  be one of the most unique Halloween experiences in SL.

Feel free to come and watch progress  …. or wait towards the end of October for a real surprise !

GROUP CHANGES
============
One thing has not changed, Ima’s inability to record keep !  Our groups were migrated recently to hippoGROUPS.  This would be all former OneDom groups.  I attempted to convert everyone over.  I am more than sure some are missed and some were added inadvertently.  Regardless, I just finally did some kind of load.

Our policy on groups is simple.  We are not a spamming machine. For example, in 2009 we sent out a whopping 4 messages.  Going forward we intend to use hippoGROUPS to notify our customers of new product announcements and other happenings.  We found hippoGROUPS to be more convenient for all concernced.

If you received this in error and/or would like to be removed, kindly IM OneDom Magic in-world and we will gladly fix any errors.  Or if you prefer, you can also do this yourself at the hippo web site: http://www.hippo-technologies.co.uk/index.php.

I’ve been playing around with different video recording programs and settings within SL to record and play widescreen film. The application i used to capture this video was FRAPS. A usefull thing is to hide the mouse, press alt-shift-h to hide your huds, alt-ctrl-F1 to hide the interface and toggle it back on. F9 is used standard bij FRAPS to start capturing.

Today i came across this amazing Second Life production of the Ill Clan. They made a short film called Tiny Nation, using Second Life as realtime rendering engine.  This is called a machinima. Machinima (muh-sheen-eh-mah) is filmmaking within a real-time, 3D virtual environment, often using 3D video-game technologies.

In an expanded definition, it is the convergence of filmmaking, animation and game development. Machinima is real-world filmmaking techniques applied within an interactive virtual space where characters and events can be either controlled by humans, scripts or artificial intelligence.

By combining the techniques of filmmaking, animation production and the technology of real-time 3D game engines, Machinima makes for a very cost- and time-efficient way to produce films, with a large amount of creative control.

I think they did an incredible job all together and the result is very high quality, especially Damien Fate with the facial expressions of the Pocos Locos. Making films this way sure seems to cut a lot of CGI rendering costs.

OneDom has taken over Westlabs, a company with some advanced products like their bestseller Tbase v4.0, 2sync and Dynamic Art. OneDom updated Tbase to version 4.5, and is free for everybody to upgrade who had already 4.0 earlier, messsage OneDom Magic for more information. We are also working on a version 5.0 wich is also a vendor and animation organiser, this will be released in a few months. For now we celebrate take over. Cheers!

Hi Folks, I have put out some butt ugly trees. Well, ok to be fair, they are either dead or leafless ! Perfect for the upcoming Halloween season and in preparation for winter.

They are all 1 prim, in 3 sizes: Sm, Med, Lge. copy (for megas) and mod/copy at 250L !

Be sure to check back often. New plants are placed out nearly daily. Each Month I will put the new ones in the “New” planter boxes up front. Already have 9 in there so far.
